These are difficult to date as they are identical to pieces currently produced by the renowned Argentinian silver maker Lappas, however are no longer sold by Gump’s. Based on their nearly pristine condition, I would be hesitant to label them vintage. They are very likely contemporary.
These pieces are sold on other sites as individual caviar servers, however given their more, let’s say ‘approachable,’ utility as salt and pepper cellars, I’m offering the two as a set.
One cellar had a small dent in its rim when I found it, and it was repaired by the Biro & Sons, my much-loved silversmith in San Francisco. So, these pieces are truly representative of some of the best San Francisco has to offer in terms of silver serving pieces!
